The killer international tours just keep on coming, with new shows from experimentalist whiz Bonobo, rescheduled dates from legendary indie guitarist Johnny Marr, Bloc Party frontman Kele, Philadelphia rockers mewithoutYou, post-hardcore favourites Silverstein, acclaimed punk rockers Title Fight, and French electronic duo Yelle.

Johnny Marr

Few guitarists command the kind of respect or reputation that Johnny Marr can stake a claim to. Formerly a member of UK indie legends The Smiths, Marr’s storied career spans three decades and an incredible roster of projects, having collaborated with the likes of New Order’s Bernard Sumner, The Cribs, Modest Mouse, and many more. Having postponed his highly anticipated Australian tour due to ongoing family illnes, Marr has now announced a rescheduled set of dates and the unfortunate cancellation of his Wednesday, 4th February show at The Tivoli in Brisbane.

Yelle

Founded by Yelle, nee Julie Budet, and producer Grand Marnier (Jean-Francois Perrier), Yelle emerged as one of the premier acts of the mid-2000s electro-pop explosion. The band’s first album, Pop-Up, garnered praise for its wry, frothy, and unashamedly fun outlook, and their latest album Complètement fou, produced by Dr. Luke and his team, has generated equal acclaim. To celebrate the release of Complètement fou Yelle will return to Australia for shows in Perth, Sydney, Brisbane, and Melbourne.

Acclaimed for his outside-the-box approach to music, Bonobo’s ranging personal tastes and regularly expanding range of synthesizers and instruments continue to take his productions to new levels. Title Fight

Title Fight have announced an Australian headline tour in support of their new album, Hyperview, slated for release on 30th January via Anti Records. The album is the result of busy studio sessions which took place ruing the summer of 2014. The band decided to decamp to Studio 4 in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania, where they had made their last three records, to begin work on Hyperviewwith producer/engineer Will Yip. The result is an album that is a massive leap forward for the band, with opaque lyrics sung through remarkably muted and lovely vocals, compared to previous releases.

Kele

Though most know him as the frontman of indie giants Bloc Party, many may be unfamiliar with Kele Okereke’s fascination with dance music, an element that has in fact been present in his band even since their timeless 2004 debut, Silent Alarm. The fascination culminated with his first solo album back in 2010, a release titled The Boxer, which featured a fiery array of harsh electronic sounds and beats. Kele has since followed-up with last year’s Trick and he is set to celebrate the release of the album with a six-date Australian tour this March.
