After delivering quite easily the most spoken about performance at Triple J’s Beat The Drum birthday party a couple of weeks ago, Daniel Johns has at long last released his very first solo track in eight years, and we’ll let you know straight-up, it aint nothing like the head-clanging days of Silverchair – but that don’t mean it’s no good.

Collaborating with Lorde and Broods producer Joel Little, the brand new track is entitled ‘Ariel Love’ which sees the 35-year old’s angelic falsetto soars above subtle rumbling bass, pairing gorgeously with slow suave keys to create a celestial piece of electropop beauty.

The tune falls from Johns’ forthcoming 4-track EP which is set for release on March 13, and for those hankering for more, don’t fret – Daniel Johns will release a full LP later this year.
