The Triple J Hottest 100 results are finally in. Music fans around the country assaulted the Triple J website and cast their votes for their favourite tracks of the past 12 months, effectively announcing that they’re kind of nuts about this Chet Faker guy.

But what you may not know is that despite his status as the reigning king of Triple J in 2014, Chet Faker’s winning song, ‘Talk Is Cheap’, wasn’t even in the top 10 most played tracks on Triple J last year. The track with the most plays came in at number two and that’s Peking Duk’s ‘High’.

After much laborious research and pawing through playlists, we’ve compiled a list of the tracks that got a lot of play on Triple J (in some cases they were in the top five most played tracks), but still didn’t make the final countdown. It’s sure to have you exclaiming, “No Way! Really!?”
