We’ve all seen the videos where Jimmy Kimmel sends his team down to typically trendy events like Coachella and Fashion Week to speak to clueless and incredibly gullible punters, feed them fake band names, and watch them act as if they’re intimately familiar with the catalog of MC FroYo.

We all sit back and have a good laugh at the expense of some hapless hipsters who profess a love of DJ Rosh Hashanah, Big Jizz and Little Jizz, Neil Patrick Harassment, Tanya and the Hardings, DJ Costco, Willie Nelson Mandela, and countless other troll names made up by Kimmel’s Lie Witness News crew.

We laugh because deep down we know that that wouldn’t happen to us. After all, us Aussies are the larrikins of the world. We’d be onto anybody that tried to own us with some blatantly obvious fake band names, right? We’re simply not that gullible, sorry.

Except, two Singaporeans have proved that it doesn’t matter where you go, people never want to look dumb on camera, even if it makes them look super dumb on camera. They walked around the recently concluded Laneway Festival in Singapore to chat with Aussie expats and locals about all of their favourite acts, like Courtney Has Crabs and the Salty Sacks.
