Following one hell of a dramatic lead-up, which included two bands dropping out and a public transport crisis, this weekend will finally see the launch of the eagerly anticipated 2015 instalment of Soundwave Festival.

Those who’ve been before know what to expect: plenty of sweaty mosh pits, black t-shirts, the occasional pair of checkered Vans, and lots of fine metal, punk, and hard rock music. You can also expect a few, shall we say, frontman quirks.

Again, those who’ve been to their share of metal, punk, and hardcore shows will be all too familiar with the “T-rex”, the “super cup”, the “diva”, and most definitely the “frustrated noose”. If you don’t know what we’re talking about, check out this video, courtesy of YouTuber Jared Dines.

Jared has been kind enough to compile a clip featuring just about every mic-holding method you’re liable to see at Soundwave over the next two weekends. As he writes, “This is a parody of what I see a lot of vocalists do. It’s meant as a joke and not too be taken too seriously.”
