With Laneway behind us and Soundwave about to join it, all eyes are now on the eagerly anticipated 2015 return of Splendour In The Grass. The lineup rumour has already begun churning and it recently received another injection of fuel in the form of new additions to the Fuji Rock lineup.

The initial lineup for the popular Japanese festival, which just so happens to take place on the same weekend as our beloved Splendour, dropped late last month, featuring a stack of great acts including Foo Fighters, Muse, FKA twigs, Happy Mondays, Of Monsters and Men, and Todd Rundgen.

Earlier this month, Fuji Rock organisers confirmed Jenny Lewis, Ryan Adams, Johnny Marr, and Macy Gray, and they most recently announced the likes of Catfish and the Bottlemen, Ride, Hudson Mohawke, The Districts, and Motörhead, several of whom we could definitely see on a Splendour lineup.

Splendour In The Grass frequently shares acts with Fuji Rock. Last year, the two festivals swapped some 10 acts, including Splendour headliners Outkast and Lily Allen, as well as Foster The People, Kelis, London Grammar, Parquet Courts, Jungle, Darkside, Asgeir, and The Strypes.

Meanwhile, we may have our first confirmed act. During an interview with Project U, UK producer Rosie Lowe told the outlet, “I think that we’re coming to a few festivals, but I’m not sure which ones, because I only really look ahead at the moment, but yeah I’m pretty sure we’re coming in the summer… well, our summer, so your winter.”

Since Splendour is the only major Aussie festival taking place in winter and her Aussie PR is being handled by Secret Service Publicity, who have close ties to Splendour, it’s a safe bet we’ll be seeing her at Byron Bay soon.

Earlier this month, Mark Ronson also addressed speculation about a potential Splendour appearance by telling Triple J, “I can neither confirm nor deny any of these rumours. If I can figure out a great show, I’m going to be here – that’s what I know for sure.”

As for names that we unfortunately will not be seeing at Byron Bay this July, you can count out Kendrick Lamar, alt-j, Modest Mouse, Passion Pit, St. Vincent, Girl Talk, Run The Jewels, and Odesza, just to name a few. All of these names will be busy playing WayHome Festival in Canada.

The dates and venue for Splendour In The Grass 2015 were announced earlier this month. The festival is set to once again return to the beautiful North Byron Parklands, its home since Splendour 2013, while the whole shebang is set to kick off on Friday, 24th July, going into Saturday 25th, and finishing up on Sunday, 26th July.
