After a three-year wait, multi-award winning UK rockers The Darkness are finally set to make their eagerly anticipated return. With a new album, Last of Our Kind, set for release this May, the band have unveiled the first single to be taken from the album, the roaring rocker ‘Barbarian’.

Penned in Ireland, where the band are scheduled to play a small but perfectly formed tour next month, and produced by guitarist Dan Hawkins, the album is bursting with the kind of death-defying guitar wizardry, soaring Olympian vocals, and epic lyricism we’ve come to expect from one of the UK’s finest rock bands.

The track, which has the fingerprints of the band that gave us unforgettable cuts like ‘I Believe In a Thing Called Love’ and ‘Love is Only a Feeling’ all over it, also features the debut of the band’s new drummer, Emily Dolan Davies, who’s performed with the likes of Bono, Bryan Ferry, and Tricky.
