Are you a film buff that’s also obsessed with vinyl records? Well, prepare to have your day made.

Universal Music Enterprises have revealed that they are releasing 26 of your favourite movie soundtracks direct to vinyl for the very first time.

There are some absolutely cracking soundtracks and scores that will be released, even a few that we couldn’t believe hadn’t already been cut to vinyl.

For example, take Paul Thomas Anderson’s 1997 classic, Boogie Nights, whose soundtrack feels more like a character of the ’70s disco and funk throwback than background noise. The original soundtrack is a masterpiece spilling with hit after hit, the opening scene of the movie is met with the feel-good smash ‘Best Of My Love’ by The Emotions, not to mention an endless list of premium songs like ‘God Only Knows’ by The Beach Boys, Marvin Gaye’s ‘Got To Give It Up (Part 1)’ and of course, the epitome, ‘Jessie’s Girl’ by Rick Springfield.

Another to finally to be pressed to wax is Baz Luhrmann’s Romeo + Juliet, which featured the unforgettable ‘Young Hearts Run Free’ by Kym Mazelle, Radiohead’s ‘Talk Show Host’, ‘Lovefool’ by The Cardigans and so many more.

Animal House of 1978 is yet another amongst the list that will transfer to vinyl. Who wouldn’t want the John Belushi adaptation of ‘Louie, Louie’ and ‘Money (That’s What I Want)’ or multiple Sam Cooke tracks like ‘Twistin’ The Night Away’ and ‘(What A) Wonderful World)’?

Not limited to only soundtracks, there are also original scores that too will be released, which seem almost better fit to vinyl, including E.T, Jaws, The Godfather and Silence Of The Lambs.

With the likes of The Mack, Do The Right Thing, E.T. Jaws, The Godfather, Good Will Hunting, Pulp Fiction and Romeo + Juliet already available for purchasethe following records will shelves throughout this year. What one are you going to make yours first?
