Two things that scream Melbourne are trams and live music, so why not pair the two together?

That’s exactly what the adored Tram Sessions did a few years ago, surprising Melbourne commuters by taking over a tram at random for a guerrilla unplugged performance with both up-and-coming artists like Kingswood to established stars like Vance Joy, Paul Kelly and Thelma Plum, and after nearly five years of successful operations, they are stoked to announce a brand new partnership with denim kings, Levi’s.

Founder of Tram Sessions Nick Wallberg on the new partnership, “We’re chuffed to announce Levi’s® as a new friend of Tram Sessions. It’s been a long journey since we started five years ago. Who would have thought we would go from using broom sticks as boom mics to having some of Australia’s top acts on trams and 200 000+ video views/month! Celebrating this anniversary with such a music orientated company as Levi’s® is therefore even more exciting.”

Levi’s too are pumped to announce their new relationship with Tram Sessions, marketing manager Nicky Rowsell commenting, “I’m really happy to be getting involved with the guys from ‘Tram Sessions’ – not only from a music angle in giving artists a new way to get their music to an audience at a grass roots level, but I am also excited by the concept itself. It’s such an innovative approach in bringing music to the community in such a fun, unique and intimate way.”

To celebrate this exciting new partnership, Tram Sessions and Levi’s are throwing one helluva gig Friday 6 March which will see rising hiphop star Remi spit some rhymes on a Melbourne tram.

In addition to this, Tram Sessions and Levi’s have got some killer acts in-store, we don’t want to give away all of them as a surprise is always nice, but we can confirm that both Lurch & Chief and Forest Falls have locked in for an intimate commute.

Tram Sessions and Levi’s are super amped on this new partnership, and as such are giving Tone Deaf reader’s the opportunity to gain the inside scoop on where the next Tram Sessions will be taking place. Simply fill in your details below and you could find yourself on a tram with a bunch of talented musicians.
