Most of you will remember Bareback Titty Squad as the guys who basically took the piss out of our childhoods with their infamous ‘Destroying Disney’ video, but those with slightly better memories will remember when they performed the entire 2012 Triple J Hottest 100 in their underwear.

Now, the band have announced that they’re doing it all over again. Following their recent 16-date tour across the country, Bareback Titty Squad went back in the studio and have been secretly writing, recording, mixing, and mastering their take on the latest Triple J Hottest 100.

All the way from Tkay Maidza’s ‘Switch Lanes’ to Chet Faker’s ‘Talk Is Cheap’, every song in the 2015 Hottest 100 has been mashed-up into yet another half-hour whirlwind megamix by everyone’s favourite irreverent garage rock trio, who’ll perform it with their famous gusto.

Assembling on Australia Day, the determined trio went about painstakingly sampling, transposing, arranging, and learning every song from home before recording the whole composition over two jam-packed weeks with producer Oscar Dawson (HOLY HOLY) at The Aviary Studios in Melbourne.

“The most rigorous work schedule we have ever put ourselves through, with a couple of us losing our ‘real’ jobs in order to squeeze in the massive work load,” BBTS bassist and vocalist Callum Padgham said of the process behind their latest Hottest 100 megamix.

“Thanks to all of the touring we’ve done lately, we’re a better band than we’ve ever been and we’re confident that’s plastered all over the new mix… To put it simply, this Hottest 100 mix drops our old Hottest 100 mix off at the day care centre, before going down to the pub with the boys and drinking them all under the table.”

As for the video concept? “Without giving away too much, imagine: a thirty minute intense police chase through the streets of Melbourne on land, sea and air, all whilst simultaneously performing the Hottest 100 which has been carefully written to correlate visually with each event as it unfolds.”

The boys have even hinted to Tone Deaf that they may or may not be jumping out of a plane whilst performing Peking Duk’s ‘High’ at 15,000 feet. Appropriate, sure, but we’ll believe it when we actually see it.

With the musical side of the mammoth-sized undertaking now behind them, BBTS will commence an “even busier” shooting schedule in order to get their latest project fit and ready for release on Monday, 23rd March at 5pm. To support the release, the band will be announcing a national tour, so stay tuned to Tone Deaf.
