Following the announcement of the St Jerome’s Laneway Festival SXSW Party yesterday, Secret Sounds, the promoters of Splendour In The Grass and Falls Festival, have announced their own SXSW day party event, which may give fans a few clues about their respective 2015 lineups.

Last year’s lineup for the annual party featured the likes of Skaters and our very own Gossling, who ended up making the lineup of Splendour In The Grass, and Wolf Alice, who ended up making their way Down Under for Falls Festival.

This year’s Secret Sounds showcase features a treasure trove of upcoming talent, including the homegrown Tkay Maidza, Brits Until the Ribbon Breaks, Ireland’s Walking on Cars, Sweden’s Urban Cone, Icleand’s Kaleo, and direct from the US, San Fermin, Max Frost, Joywave, and HOLYCHILD.

The lineup will comprise the latest batch of names to be thrown into the Splendour rumour mill, which got a kickstart earlier this year following the announcement of Japan’s Fuji Rock Festival, which features Muse, The Bohicas, FKA twigs, Happy Mondays, Of Monsters and Men, and more.

Splendour frequently shares multiple acts with the popular Japanese festival, which takes place on the same weekend. Last year, the two events swapped some 10 acts, including headliners Outkast and Lily Allen, as well as Foster The People, Kelis, London Grammar, Parquet Courts, Jungle, and Asgeir.

Meanwhile, Rosie Lowe basically confirmed her presence at the beloved winter event during an interview with Project U. “I think that we’re coming to a few festivals, but I’m not sure which ones, because I only really look ahead at the moment,” she said.

UK indie outfit The Wombats have also confirmed that they will be making their way back to Australia in July. “We’re coming back in July,” the band told Triple J. “That was a secret, we weren’t supposed to say that.”

However, the first major lineup clue came during a chat between Triple J and super-producer Mark Ronson. When asked about a Splendour appearance, he said, “I can neither confirm nor deny any of these rumours. If I can figure out a great show, I’m going to be here – that’s what I know for sure.”
