While most of us are familiar with the endless squabbles between the Gallagher Brothers, a recent scuffle between Slipknot guitarist Mick Thomson and his non-musician brother makes the Manchester duo’s skirmishes look like child’s play.

As the Des Moines Register reports, a pair of brothers were transported to a local hospital with serious injuries resulting from an apparent knife fight that the two engaged in early on Wednesday morning.

According to a Clive Police Department new release, the fight occurred between two Iowa residents named Mick Thomson and brother Andrew John Thomson, but police said they couldn’t confirm that it was the Mick Thomson of Slipknot fame.

However, Corey Taylor, the band’s lead singer, soon tweeted “in regards to the story about Mick,” indicating that he was “doing the best I can to find out if he’s alright. I’ll get back to you later”.

Taylor, who was recently in the country with Slipknot to headline Soundwave Festival, later tweeted a “Mick Update”, writing, “From what I’ve heard he’s okay. We’re sendig him all your thoughts. Thank you for that.”

According to Clive Police, the two brothers were fighting and armed with knives in the front yard of a home in Clive, Iowa at about 4:25am. At first the brothers were fighting inside the hime, but moved outside after the altercation became physical.

When officers arrived, they found the brothers, both of whom appeared to be intoxicated, with serious but not life-threatening stab wounds. Mick Thomson had reportedly sustained a stab wound in the back of his head.

Both were transported to local hospitals in separate ambulances. According to local news outlet KCCI, Slipknot’s manager has said the incident will not impact any future shows for the band, who are currently promoting their new album .5: The Gray Chapter.
