The Bluesfest drip feed just keeps on unleashing great acts. Just when we thought they couldn’t possibly pack any more talent into the Byron Bay Bluesfest 2015 lineup, the organisers have outdone themselves once again and announced the addition of Angus & Julia Stone, Boy & Bear, and Sticky Fingers.

Meanwhile, fans of pioneering hip-hop outfit Jurassic 5 have more reasons to be excited with the announcement that the Los Angeles crew will now appear on opening night, Thursday, 2nd April, as well as on Easter Sunday, 5th April.

“To be adding Angus & Julia Stone, Boy & Bear, Sticky Fingers and an additional performance from Jurassic 5 only three weeks out of the Festival is a huge milestone,” says Festival Director Peter Noble. “This is a time when all artists are truly locked away and no further announcements are scheduled.”

“We have now added a whole slew of Australia’s best contemporary talent. Angus & Julia just performed on the steps at Sydney Opera House – selling 5,000 tickets. The StiFi’s haven’t had ANY shows on their current tour NOT sell out.”

“Boy & Bear have not been playing ANY shows since their sell-out tour last year, and have not performed on any Australian festival for over 2 years. And, what can you say about Jurassic 5 other than they are bloody INCREDIBLE!”

However, organisers are also sorry to confirm that UK singer-songwriter Ben Howard will no longer be performing at Bluesfest this year. Howard has reportedly decided to update his stage show, introducing new musicians into his band, and will be taking time out to work on the show.

“Dear Australia, We’re really sorry we’re having to reschedule the upcoming tour – it’s really not what we wanted to do and it’s been an impossible decision to come to,” writes Howard. “We’ve had to make some big changes for the greater good.”

“Hoping you can make the new dates. All will be well and we’ll be back soon in full force.” Readers can check below for a selection of cancelled and rescheduled tour dates for Ben Howard’s forthcoming tour of Australia.

According to a statement from Bluesfest organisers, Thursday single-day refunds for those who were only coming to see Howard will be made available until 19th March by calling the festival office on 02 6685 8310.

Meanwhile, those with tickets to Howard’s headline performances will have their passes honoured for the new dates.

For Sydney Opera House ticketholders, refunds can be obtained from the point of purchase. There will also be a limited number of tickets available for the rescheduled Hordern Pavilion show on Saturday, 30th May.

For those who are unable to attend the rescheduled dates, you may secure a full refund by contacting the point of purchase no later than Tuesday, 31st March.
