Because it’s the 21st century and because technology, a music festival has leaked its 2015 lineup in one of the most innovative and straight-up coolest ways we ever done seen.

Canadian music festival Osheaga has taken a very different approach to announce what artists will be playing on its highly anticipated bill, creating a mobile phone game entitled The Road To Osheaga, as Consequence Of Sound report.

The Road To Osheaga puts users in driver’s seat of a car that’s hooning down a city street, the aim of the game to collect as many “musical notes” as possible, the more one gains the more Osheage Music Festival artists are leaked, the musician’s song actually being played each time you unlock them.

What makes this very interesting is that the full lineup isn’t actually revealed until Tuesday 24 March, however avid gamers have already uncovered a massive list of performers including The Black Keys, Florence And The Machine, The War On Drugs as well as Aussie acts Chet Faker and Angus And Julia Stone.

To some naysayers that may find this a little annoying, there of course is incentive to playing the game, the top 10 scorers of the game will win double passes to the festival, whilst the the skilled person who slots in at #1 will win the ultimate Golden Festival Pass which provides free accommodation, travel and tickets for two people from anywhere in the world. Not so annoying now, is it?

The application can be downloaded for free and is readily available in Aussie app-stores for anyone to play so jump on it – you could nab you and your best mate a free trip to Canada.

The festival takes place July 31st – August 2nd at Montreal’s Parc Jean-Drapeau.
