We’ve seen some pretty awesome antics employed by international music festivals announcing their annuals lineups in the past few months. A particular favourite was Canadian music festival Osheaga, who announced their bill with a fully functional video game app.

Meanwhile, Bonnaroo implored fans to call up a dedicated phone number where they received one name on the lineup and then encouraged fans to share the name of that band or artist on social media using a specialised hashtag.

However, Outside Lands, an annual music festival taking place in San Francisco may have just won our hearts over entirely. The festival eschewed any fancy apps or gimmicks, they went with a simple video.

But the video they went with could just be the funniest music festival lineup announcement we’ve ever seen, even outdoing the much talked-about video for their 2014 announcement, which featured Huey Lewis delivering the lineup as a news report.

For those unfamiliar with Outside Lands, the three-day festival will take place 7th – 9th August at Golden Gate Park in San Francisco. This year’s lineup features an eclectic array of big names, including Elton John, Mumford and Sons, The Black Keys, and Kendrick Lamar.

Readers can check out the lineup announcement clip below, which is like a bizarre mix between Too Many Cooks and The Room. Rest assured, you’ll quickly understand why it was released via Funny or Die.
