We’ve been waiting a bloody long time for this, finally wunderkid Jamie XX will release his debut solo record In Colour in June, and to send us all into excitement overdrive, he’s shared a beautiful beat from the forthcoming album.

Entitled ‘Loud Places’, Jamie XX has borrowed the smokey vocals of XX bandmate Romy Madley Croft to piece together a slow-burning masterpiece. Powered by a very basic key progression and shaking percussions, this beat could be dropped in a sweaty basement club as easily as it could soundtrack a solo chillout.

‘Loud Places’ demonstrates Jamie’s diversity, the slow-tempo song a departure from the previously released more club-inspired track ‘Girl’, which too will appear on In Colour.
