Back into the wonderful world of internet music after a five month SoundCloud absence following the release of his Tycho remix, Asdasfr Bawd (good luck telling your friends about him, it’s pronounced ’az-das-ah-fah bow-d’) has just dropped his official two-track debut release ‘Nobody / Love’ on local Melbourne label Solitaire Recordings via. Vice’s THUMP, giving Asdasfr a huge amount of exposure for his first ever release.

The single starts off with ‘Nobody’, a chilling a mellow electronic track, heavy with groove and soul. ‘Nobody’ has a super dancey and catchy rhythm that makes me piss everyone else in the office off for tapping my foot. The track feature some of the most stunning reverberating chopped vocals paired with some floating synths and a lovely soft bell/glockenspiel in the melody.

The second track, ‘Love’ starts off picking up the tempo yet mellows out the release in the end. This track has more of a menacing beat and much more percussion going on in the back and sides, like an inverted mullet. ‘Love’ is a lot more airier, spacier and deeper than ‘Nobody’ with a clean bassline that comes in at the bridge that creates that nice low-high harmony that you would look for in these electronic releases.

‘Nobody / Love’ is great release for fans of catchy, minimal house and electronica. It mimics artists such as Cashmere Cat or even some Burial but with Asdasfr’s original twist.
