Tone Deaf’s favourite media tart, provocateur and often ill-informed wannabe political commentator M.I.A. stormed The Late Show with David Letterman to perform single “Born Free.”

The song which has been doing the rounds of radio and the internet for a few months now, infamously incorporates MIA’s usual magpie-like sampling of classic tracks – in this case featuring a sample of ’70s New York synth-punk legends Suicide. As she received her opportunity to confront middle America, she was joined on stage by nine M.I.A. look-alikes and 70 year old Suicide co-founder Martin Rev.

Kudos to David Letterman who, as he walked over for his customary handshake, commented on the performer’s tryhard hipster outfits — tight acid-wash jeans, tube socks, big sunglasses, and Flintstones-style t-shirts — saying, “Happy Halloween!”
