Melbourne folksters Forest Falls are today premiering the stunning video for their equally stunning single ‘Hounds’ (out April 6th).

Taken from an upcoming EP of  the same name, ‘Hounds’ is a joyfully poppy taste of what’s to come from this talented Melbourne collective, who will be celebrating the release with a Wednesday night Workers Club residency in Melbourne kicking off on May 6, moving through to Workers Club Geelong, and Bondi Bowling Club and Gaelic Club in Sydney.

Filmed in Melbourne by production company An Architect Photographed My Undies (Vance Joy, Pierce Brothers, Oscar Key Sung), the clip for Hounds is open to interpretation, following the story of a pair of passionate lovers, complemented by the song’s lyrics, their two voices ricochet off each other in the heat of the moment. By weaving the release of sky lanterns in to the narrative, the clip touches on themes of igniting, letting go, reigniting and perhaps just burning out. “We loved the aesthetic and the metaphor of releasing the sky lanterns and the fact that there isn’t a right answer to the true meaning behind the clip,” says Forest Falls vocalist Jon O’Neill.

Check out the video below, and if you like what you hear be sure to pop by the Forest Falls Facebook page for more info on the band and their upcoming shows.
