One thing that forever feels sorely missed in popular culture today is the ’90s – kids these days are flying around in the “coolest” bucket hats, the rise once again of birkenstocks and that’s not to mention the endless range of grunge apparel – but do they know a thing about the music?

The guys from YouTube channel REACT, responsible for other hilarious videos such as “Elders Play Grand Theft Auto V“, had to find out and as such have put a handful teens to the test playing them super popular hits from the 1990s and seeing if they can guess what the song and artist is.

Even though this is a task that for any of us born pre-1992 would have almost no problem with, it’s actually mind-blowing to see how little some of them know when played a song, just as much as it is when they actually nail a more obscure track.

The brilliant vid begins by introducing the each of them expressed a little excitement, but also a nervous anxiety, explaining they only have only lived a couple of years in the ’90s.

Some of the best responses include: “I like the Pitch Perfect version better”, “It sounds like something that comes on my mum’s Pandora”, “he sounds constipated, just a little bit…” and perhaps the most painful, “My sisters played it, and they’re like really old, 20s, 25.
