King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard have unveiled their new video for ‘The River’, their latest single, which features on their forthcoming LP, Quarters, which comes out Friday, 1st May via Flightless / Remote Control Records.
Best of all, the band have been keeping characteristically busy cooking up an insane album launch tour that they’ve dubbed Gizzfest. The prolific Melbourne psych crew will be bringing a stacked mini-festival to Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth, Sydney, and Brisbane.
The band will announce the venue, date, and supports for Gizzfest in a different capital city each day this week, for what will be the band’s most ambitious tour yet. Make sure you stay tuned to Tone Deaf and we’ll have all the details as they’re announced.
The band are urging fans to “expect the best kind of chaos” and they’ve already announced the details for Gizzfest Melbourne, which will take over the Corner Hotel early next month, with a lineup fearing the Gizz themselves, The Murlocs, Babe Rainbow, Dave Graney & the Mistly, and more.
Melbourne Gizzfest will involve three shows of multi-stage mayhem at the Corner Hotel with one all ages show and two 18+ shows featuring a total of 28 killer bands and a bunch of other fruity accompaniments to suit.
In the meantime, fans can check out the video for ‘The River’ below in preparation for Quarters, a special LP containing only four songs, each 10 minutes and 10 seconds long and accompanied by brilliant artwork created by long-time collaborator Jason Galea.
