While you may not instantly recognise the name Dave Aron, his work is sitting in your record collection right now. The artists Dave’s worked with reads like a who’s who of the music industry, with names like U2, Prince, and Snoop Dogg.

The multi-platinum recording engineer, whose work spans over three decades, got his start after leaving New Jersey for the University of Memphis, where he worked with many of the South’s prominent live and studio musicians.

After a prestigious post managing the legendary Sun Studios, home to Elvis Presley, Dave went on to work with U2 on their ground-breaking album The Joshua Tree. He then moved eastwards to sunny California where he worked extensively with Prince.

After working on some of the iconic rocker’s most famous singles, Dave moved on to Death Row Records, recording and mixing artists including Dr Dre and Snoop Dogg, beginning a long-standing collaborative relationship with Snoop.

Now, JMC Academy is giving Aussies a chance to learn the tricks of the recording trade from one of the world’s leading audio engineers during a two-hour workshop taking place at all three of JMC Academy’s locations – Brisbane, Melbourne, and Adelaide.

This will be a chance to learn from Snoop Dogg’s personal studio and live engineer and a man who’s worked in a diverse range of genres, including collaborations with the likes of Sublime and Jane’s Addiction.

On the technology side of things, Dave has contributed to the widespread growth of professional digital audio plug-ins, boasting one of the most sought-after Waves Preset collections.

Exclusively attending JMC Academy in Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane to talk about his career, the industry, how to make it, and most importantly giving many live demonstrations of his techniques, this is a once-only event, not to be repeated with limited seating so it’s sure to sell out.
