With the explosion of YouTube, musicians all over the world have been given an instant platform to share their talents with the world. It’s a great thing, really, if not the whole reason the internet was invented in the first place. Democratisation and all that, right?

The thing is, a lot of these artists aren’t actually sharing their own talents so much as applying them to songs written by other talented people. They’re not the only ones. After all, cover versions are hardly a new phenomenon, they’ve been around for ever.

Now, don’t get us wrong, it’s not cover versions we dislike. In fact, we love a great, original cover that offers a new perspective on a song. It’s just that, well, we need to stop covering the same songs over and over and over again. Please? Here’s 12 we should stop covering immediately.
