The loss of the Palace Theatre is without a doubt one of the biggest tragedies to hit the Melbourne live music scene in recent memory, but the fans who made the iconic venue what it is now have a chance to take home a piece of its history.

Following a successful merch sale that saw fans clamouring to get their hands on the venue’s private collection of posters, t-shirts, ticket stubs and other sorts of music miscellanea dating from 1993 through to 2014, the Palace will now host a special garage sale.

In addition to merchandise, fans will have a chance to purchase a coffee machine, furniture, tools, bar fridges, pro audio gear, paint, cleaning equipment, bars, office equipment, rigging equipment, bar sundries, appliances, and so much more.

This last hurrah garage sale will take place Saturday, 25th April and Sunday, 26th April from 10am to 4pm at 11 Cromwell Parade, West Footscray VIC 3012. Make sure you get down early if you hope to pick up a little piece of music history from the famous Bourke St and St Kilda venues.

As Beat reports, the first auction of Palace memorabilia was a massive success, with half the items snapped up and fans gathering outside an hour before the auction was set to begin. By the time it had gone underway, the queue was around the block.

Among the hottest items, which included posters, ticket stubs, and t-shirts, was merch by the likes of Queens of the Stone Age, Jane’s Addiction, and Wilco, who no doubt provided live music highlights for many Melbourne fans.
