Byron Bay metalcore favourites In Hearts Wake are gearing up to unveil their highly anticipated third album, Skydancer, this Friday, but it appears Mother Nature had other plans. Due to the wild storms currently pounding down on NSW, the majority of CD stock that was due to hit stores has been damaged.

Taking to Facebook, the band write the freak storms have not only “damaged people’s lives, homes, work places and wreaked havoc on public transport and roads – but the warehouse where our Skydancer CD stock was being stored was also heavily damaged”.

“This means most of the stock wasn’t able to ship out to stores around Australia,” they continue. While stores in Western Australia, North Queensland, and Tasmania, as well as online pre-orders already have their stock of Skydancer CDs, but “most stores in other areas” won’t receive their copies till next week.

To make up for the delay, the band have announced a series of in-store appearances at independent record stores in Melbourne, Brisbane, and Sydney over the weekend, with fresh copies of Skydancer in tow.

To address the issue, the metalcore titans have planned a series of in-store appearances at independent record stores in Melbourne, Brisbane, and Sydney over the weekend, and they’ll be bringing a few copies of Skydancer with them.

The band will be hitting up Rocking Horse in Brisbane from 4pm on Friday, Melbourne’s 24Hundred from 11am on Saturday they visit, and Utopia Records in Sydney from 2pm on Sunday. “These stores will all have the record in stock, and we’ll be signing stuff and hanging out with everyone who makes the effort to drop by,” they add.

The band also commented on the irony of having their Skydancer release delayed by wild weather, as the album focuses “heavily on our relationship with nature and the detrimental effect humans have on the Earth.”

“It’s moments like these that we must surrender to what is, and do our best to make the most out of an unfortunate situation. But seriously, what better way to admit defeat than for Skydancer to bow down to the power of Father Sky! Kind of ironic isn’t it?” the band write.

“We hope everyone in Sydney affected by the storms is safe and sound. We’ll see you all soon,” they conclude. The band will soon embark on their national Skydancer tour, the band’s first Australian shows since the egress of drummer Caleb Burton.
