Outside of being one of Australia’s most exciting rising grindcore acts, Melbourne outfit King Parrot know how to create monster music videos, and their latest visual release emphatically exemplifies this.

The band’s newest vid to hit the screen is for the furious ‘Home Is Where The Gutter Is’. Shot in Melbourne’s inner north suburb of Fitzroy, the video displays a homeless war vet who is literally pissed on by the members of the general public, the poor dude eventually (so he thinks) rises against the jerks around him, getting the ultimate, graphic revenge that we’ve all desired to do a least once in our lives.

Asked to comment on the premise for the video, vocalist Matt Young explained, “There’s many people in the world forced into homelessness. Then there are people who just choose to be homeless and actually prefer to live that way. The lyrics and the video focus on these people should be entitled to live whatever way they choose. I think it’s one of the biggest fuck you’s to society a person can give and I admire it.”

King Parrot will release their new album Dead Set on Friday 15 May before taking off on tour once more with friends High Tension and Colossvs. Dead Set showcases the signature King Parrot sound, laying waste to the senses with high octane grind, thrashing riffs, pummelling beats and punk rock mayhem.

Check out the insanely sick music video for ‘Home Is Where The Gutter Is’ then feast your eyes on King Parrot’s forthcoming tour dates – believe it or not, their live show trumps the hell out of their film clips.
