Still dancing uncontrollably to last week’s Like A Version aka the ultimate party jam? Don’t worry, this week’s special rendition will slow you right down to where you want to be.

Joining Matt and Alex in the studio this week is indie-pop three-piece, Safia, who have delivered a spellbinding take on ‘Left Hand Free’ by the and only alt-J, who are in Australia right now for on a massive tour.

The trio have beautifully reworked the song, switching the foot-stomping percussions with a solitary guitar, brooding keys and haunting, souful vocals that all come together to create, dare we say, a much more emotive sonic experience than the original.

This is yet another brilliant example of a Like A Version doing the right thing, a band stepping into the Triple J studio with the intention of not just covering a song, but giving it a complete shakeup, producing something both interesting and totally enjoyable.

Every damn week we’re blown away with the amount of brilliance that spills from the Triple J studios. This year has witnessed some amazing Like A Versions, our hearts stopped when #1 Dad’s gave FKA twigs a run for her money, that was after Hiatus Kaiyote’s potential front runner for best of the year, not to mention The Bennies killing an Aussie classic,Sticky Fingers supporting a local act and a personal favourite, when a rising talent showed the big guns how Like A Version is supposed to be done.
