Aussie rock royalty, Daniel Johns, was taken to hospital on a stretcher last Friday night after a rather nasty tumble outside a Sydney bar.

The former Silverchair frontman was said to be having a drink with some friends at a Sydney cocktail bar, before stepping outside at around 10:00pm where he tripped and hit his head on the concrete, as Fairfax reports.

Suffering minor injuries, Johns was treated on the spot by paramedics, however was still strapped up in a neck brace, placed on a stretcher and taken to St Vincent’s Hospital.

St Vincent’s Hospital spokesman David Faktor stated that Johns was released in the early hours of Saturday morning, “he was treated and discharged in a satisfactory condition” before confirming, “I can’t comment on his injuries”.

There’s been no comment from Johns or any activity on his social media platforms, we hope he has in fact only suffered very minor injuries as the month of May is a massive one for the 36 year-old, with his debut solo record, Talk, set to drop Friday 22, not to mention his highly anticipated performance a part of the epic VIVID lineup at the Sydney Opera House on Thursday 28 and Friday 29.

It’s been an interesting year for Johns, having released his first solo EP, Ariel Love, a couple of months ago, a somewhat reinvention of himself, delving deep into the worlds of soulful vocals and lush electronica.

Tickets are still available for the Johns’ VIVID Live experience, you can grab ’em here.
