As Tone Deaf reported yesterday, AC/DC are allegedly attempting to reunite three of Australia’s biggest bands to support them on their upcoming tour of Australia. The bands that Acca Dacca are supposedly offering “a mountain of cash” to are Silverchair, Powderfinger, and Jet.

“Apparently they’ve approached Powderfinger, Silverchair and Jet with a mountain of cash to do this, and they actually believe they’re a real chance of pulling it off,” said Triple M‘s trusted anonymous music industry source, Supergrass.

The mysterious insider said AC/DC are so confident they can secure Silverchair, Powderfinger, or Jet to support their Rock Or Bust Australian tour that they’ve added second shows to several stops of their eagerly anticipated November tour.

While there didn’t seem to be much to the rumours besides hearsay and speculation, one of the bands that AC/DC reportedly approached recently took to Facebook to tease fans and indicate that they could just be set to take the stage together again.

Jet, best known for their hit singles ‘Are You Gonna Be My Girl’ and ‘Look What You’ve Done’ and for being one of the biggest homegrown acts of the early-to-mid-2000s, have shared a link to Triple M’s report on the reunion rumours along with the comment, “Rumours???”

While this obviously isn’t an official confirmation, Jet do seem the most likely of the three bands to reunite, as Silverchair frontman Daniel Johns has been busying himself with his recently launched solo career, while Powderfinger members Bernard Fanning and Darren Middleton have also been working on their own projects.

None of the bands that AC/DC are reportedly eyeing to play support have stepped on a stage together since 2010, coincidentally the last time that AC/DC played live, when they were supported by Wolfmother and Calling All Cars as they promoted their 14th album, Black Ice.
