Fraser A Gorman has recruited a crack team of his Aussie music peers to appear in his new music video for ‘Shiny Gun’, a cut taken from the homegrown singer-songwriter’s eagerly anticipated new album Slow Gum, which is slated for release Friday, 3rd July.

Directed by Sunny Leunig, the clip features appearances from Courtney Barnett, Angus Agars, and Davey Lane, who together with Gorman make up the members of a ’70s-style news broadcast team. The tongue-in-cheek clip is of course accompanied by Gorman’s wry lyrics and Americana-style melodies.

“In August 1972, four journalists from Canberra news Ch5 (Australia) were sacked for being ‘unprofessional’. They went on to form a band. This video is the recreation of a remarkable true story,” title cards at the opening of the video recount. See the remarkable story for yourself below.

Gorman is currently busying himself on the international touring circuit, playing to packed-out houses at Live At Leeds and Live In Glasgow and he’s got slots on the Great Escape in Brighton and London Calling in Amsterdam lined up. He’ll be back in Australia to launch Slow Gum this July.
