Aussie indie rock dreamers, Cloud Control, have put out a call to anyone in the Sydney region – they need a room, any room, to record their next album.

The band took to their Facebook profile recently to announce that the studio they’d been recording their third LP had been demolished, and thus urgently need somewhere to finish their forthcoming release, as Triple J point out.

The post reads as follows, “So our studio in Redfern is getting DEMOLISHED! We need a new home – Does anyone out there know a good space for us to record? We don’t need a proper studio just a safe place to rent where we can make LOUD NOISE and set up all our gear.”

Cloud Control note they only need the space “for a few months” preferably in their local area of Sydney, however they’d could “totally get into” hitting the road for somewhere seaside or country.

Frontman Alister Wright spoke with Triple J about the recent post, “we don’t even want a studio per se, we just need a room that we can make noise in. We’ll be bringing our own gear and we’re pretty into the DIY vibe, so it doesn’t need to be properly sound treated or anything.”

Explaining the situation of their soon to be vacated studio, he continued, “Apparently they’re not allowed to let anyone live in there anymore, so it was condemned but the council was turning a blind eye to letting a few artists in there, but then the roof was leaking; it was kind of failing apart.”

Noting a sense of urgency, Wright noted that their new album is meant to be finished by October, “I think we’re looking to release said album early next year. Hopefully, you guys might hear something from us towards the end of this year – a single or something. We’ll see what happens.”

Since penning the post on Facebook, plenty of fans have hit the group up with different options, however as Triple J’s  extensive interview reveals, the band have not yet settled on a place to finish their anticipated follow up to the stunning Dream Cave.

If you reside in Sydney or surrounding areas, have a decent sized room and want to be a part of what will surely be an incredible record, e-mail [email protected] or private message the band directly on Facebook and help the group out.
