Just when you thought the return of Soulfest couldn’t get any bigger, organisers have now confirmed the addition of a spate of incredible new acts to Soulfest 2015, including Lauryn Hill, Miguel, Black Star, and Jazmine Sullivan.

Organisers dropped their initial lineup earlier this month, which featured the likes of Mary J Blige, Jill Scott, De La Soul, Jhene Aiko, and more, and they’ve now doubled down to bring together over 20 live acts and DJs, who will feature throughout the 10-hour day, across two stages and a DJ marquee.

In addition to the return of Lauryn Hill, whose 1998 album The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill is widely credited a one of the records that kick-started the neo-soul movement, Soulfest 2015 will see the first ever Australian performances by Black Star.

Black Star is of course, legendary emcees Talib Kweli, previously announced a solo act for Soulfest 2015, and partner in crime Mos Def aka Yasiin Bey, who performed at the inaugural Soulfest last year. Together, the two are one of the most formidable duos in hip-hop.

This year’s Soulfest will also feature “an expansive array of cuisine” with authentic soul food and pop-up eateries, as well as several themed bars featuring fine wine, imported beers and spirits, and cafe’s serving world-class coffee.

General public tickets to Soulfest 2015 are on sale from Wednesday, 27th May. Soulfest offer a part-payment ticketing system, allowing you to book now and pay the ticket off weekly, fortnightly, or monthly. Sideshow announcements for Brisbane and Perth will be made later in the year.
