As we recently covered, the year is only halfway through and we’ve already seen some absolutely smashing covers performed for Triple J’s Like A Version. That said, nobody has had more fun than Melbourne ten-piece Dorsal Fins performing their cover of Kate Cebrano’s ‘Pash’.
If you haven’t hopped on the Dorsal Fins bandwagon yet, now’s the time. The band is the brainchild of Liam McGorry, best known for his work with Saskwatch and Eagle & The Worm, and features the lovely and talented Ella Thompson on vocals. Their album, Mind Renovation, has been getting some serious spins around the Tone Deaf office.
Before unleashing a powerhouse performance of Kate Cebrano’s smoochy classic, as well as a rendition of the title single from the band’s debut album, Ella shared the story of her very Australian first kiss, which happened in the skate bowl of the Queenscliff Music Festival.
