We’re big fans of Sydney’s DMA’s here at Tone Deaf. One might even say we’re DMAddicted. Since we like to keep on top of all the chatter going on about our favourite groups, we’ve heard the comparisons often made between DMA’s and the bands of the early ’90s Britpop movement.

No doubt the band certainly share many of the hallmarks of those bands, including their visual aesthetic, their simple pop songwriting, and their general swagger. The talk even prompted one journalist to ask Oasis chief Noel Gallagher if he’d heard of the band (he hadn’t).

Well, Aussie fans can now finally discover just what UK music fans think of Australia’s favourite Britpop band. The band recently performed during The Great Escape festival in Brighton and Hove and footage of their rendition of ‘Your Low’ has surfaced online.

The band was in the country to play shows at the NME stage with Django Django and also at The Vevo House. Both shows were over capacity, with people lining up down the street. What’s more, their first ever London headline show also sold out.

As readers can see in the footage below, the Brits were definitely vibing on our favourite sons, who have now moved on to North America, where they’ve just played Boston Calling Festival and will soon be hitting up Governor’s Ball in New York City.
