Cardigan clad indie fans worldwide are rejoicing with the news that not only will seminal band Guideb By Voices be reforming to play the Matador Records 21st birthday party in Las Vegas in October, but that they will then be touring with what is considered their classic mid 90s line up. Bob Pollard’s shambolic lo-fi legends will play a full U.S. only tour at this stage following the Matador gig. The band was renowned for their epic shows which usually crammed dozens of sub-90 second songs into a shambolic alcohol fuelled set. The band have been championed by The Strokes over the years who were mentored by GBV, so expect a few Strokes to make guest appearances on stage if schedules allow

Actually playing one show before the Vegas show; the first scheduled GBV reunion show will be on September 30 in Austin, Texas before touring with supports from Times New Viking and Blitzen Trapper. They’re also just the type of band to play festivals in Oz such as Meredith and Golden Plains – watch this space.
