Perth songwriter Helen Shanahan is today premiering the video to her beautiful single ‘Across The Sea’. The Telstra Road to Discovery ‘Songwriter Of The Year’ award winner is set to release her third EP Finding Gold on July 3rd, ‘Across The Sea’ is the first taste of this new EP.

Inspired by her personal struggle with anxiety ‘Across The Sea’ is her “calling out for someone to help guide me through the times of hardship” Helen explains.

Reflective of the song’s metaphor, the clip for Across The Sea takes the viewer through different landscapes of Helen’s journey, making her way through a forest and finally ending up at ‘the sea’. ‘Can’t cross the water on my own, so who will build a ship for me, who will help me, across the sea,’ Helen sings. The stunning clip was shot and directed by local Perth filmmaker Brendan Joel (Sam Perry, Jacob Diamond, Rainy Day Women) on location at the picturesque Cape Peron.

Check out the stunning video below and if you like what you’re hearing be sure to pop by Helen’s Facebook page for more info – and don’t miss her upcoming three date tour.
