Watch Dallas Frasca’s Harsh Mosh Pit Mishap At Aussie Music Festival

Here at Tone Deaf, we’ve seen our share of performers taking falls and tumbles, whether off stages, speaker stacks, rafters, or whilst riding a crowd surfing wave. However, few have conducted themselves with the level of professionalism and badassery displayed by Dallas Frasca’s eponymous frontwoman.

Dallas’ case is even more impressive when you learn the extent of the singer’s injuries. During a recent performance at the Big Pineapple Music Festival, Dallas went for a crowd surf along the moshpit inside of a pool inflatable and ended up sustaining a skull fracture.

Dallas fell off the inflatable and went tumbling two metres down into the moshpit, landing face-first in the dirt and sustaining a nasty knock to the head. But swelling cheekbone and black eye be damned, she kept on performing, much to the delight of the crowd.

It wasn’t until the band returned to Melbourne that Dallas had X-rays done and realised the extent of her injuries. “Once I hit the ground and realised I was still alive I think the feeling of being disappointed that we couldn’t finish our set gave me a shot of adrenaline and I got back up and kept singing,” she said.

“To find out I had cracked my skull made us all laugh. They must breed them tough where I come from. That, or maybe no brain, no pain, hah hah,” she added. Readers can check out footage of the fall below, which occurred during Saturday’s Big Pineapple festival in Queensland.
