Tone Deaf favourite Ali E is on the eve of releasing her new EP Creatures (released tomorrow Friday the 19th June), out independently it’s some of her finest work yet.

The project of Ali E (a moniker for Melbourne muso Ali Edmonds) was born from a string of solo bedroom recordings, spilling over into more of a collaborative project which formed the recording of her 2012 debut LP Landless.

A follow on from the locally acclaimed Landless, this new effort comes after a string of other musical endeavours for Ali, including (but not limited to) playing as part of local acts Heavy Beach, Little Athletics and punk favourites Damn Terran.

During the creation of Creatures, Ali called on the talents of local co-conspirators including Anna Gordon of Mangelwurzel, Bez and Guils of Twin Beasts, Jess Ribeiro, Lucy Rash of Tantrums, Anto Skene in The Once Overs and Leigh Ewbank in Damn Terran. The result of these collaborations have morphed this six track release into a stunningly elegant and thoughtful output.

Recorded at Sing Sing South by Anna Laverty and mastered by Mikey Young, the EP will be released as a limited edition 10 inch transparent orange vinyl and available from alie.bandcamp.com, selected stores and on tour.
