Based in Central Victoria, local four piece Lamb Boulevard have just released their debut EP Humble Beginnings and it’s a pretty impressive introduction to the four piece.

Though a recent addition to the Aussie music scene, each member of the band has had their fair share of musical experiments, all of which they bring to the Lamb Boulevard table, resulting in a unique amalgamation of indie folk and rock.

Though it’s difficult to shy away from early Mumford and Sons comparisons, they’re definitely much more than a post-Mumford folk band. Beyond featuring a banjo and violin, and smooth folk acoustic sound, their musical prowess and emotive lyricism oozes authenticity and true songwriting talent.

Lamb Boulevard started with Liam Jarrad (singer) and Dave Martinez (banjo) when they had just finished high-school. Playing as an acoustic duo across Melbourne, they met Dylan Farrugia through an open mic night held at a venue called Musicland. Dylan approached the boys and the lineup became what it is today, with Jeremy Xuereb later being added on keys/violin.

Check out the EP below, and if you like what you hear be sure to visit the band’s Facebook page. The guys will also be taking up residence at The Evelyn Hotel in Fitzroy this July, all the info is at www.evelynhotel.com.au. Header photo credit: Andrea Farrugia
