Local music management company Lemon Tree haven’t stopped kicking goals since their inception in 2013. Born from the musical brains of (BONJAH bandmates) Regan Leithbridge and David Morgan, the independent management company have signed so many talented local artists including Tone Deaf favourites The Pierce Brothers and BONJAH.

Just recently they’ve invited some new talent into the fold, firstly there’s Perth’s Anna O, who is creating some serious waves in the indie music community with her unique songwriting talents and vocal ability.

Then there’s the gifted young multi instrumentalist Jack Stirling, originally from Fremantle in WA, he’s recently relocated to Melbourne to embrace the vibrant music community and work on his eccentric brand of pop.

To celebrate their recent signings and general killer work Lemon Tree are doing to help nurture Aussie talent, the guys have curated a mixtape featuring local and international artists that are loving right now. Check it out below – we guarantee you’ll find something new you dig.

NGAIIRE – ‘Once’

I heard the new NGAIIRE single last week on triple j and it blew my mind. Incredible production, a voice that will melt you and a show that blows your mind. (Regan)

War on Drugs – ‘Red Eyes’

I know this is very last year but even when I still hear this tune it strikes a chord with me. Flawless production and arrangement. Just love it, once in a while a song comes a long that just stops time, this did it for me. (Regan)

Yeo – ‘Quiet Achiever’

I’ve been a Yeo fan for a couple of years now and its so good he is finally getting the attention he deserves. Not only one of the nicest guys going around and he’s so talented its just freaky. He writes, produces, records, plays and mixes all his own stuff at home in his studio. The kid is going to blow up big time and he was the standout at Bigsound last year for me too. (Regan)

Anna O – ‘Whisper’

I first heard this driving when Anna sent over the final mixed for approval. The production is pure gold and her vocal really shines. She is a truly great writer and starting to really come into her own as an artist. Watch this space. (Regan)

Stonefield – ‘Golden Dream’

I love this new tune from Stonefield, very different from them. It’s awesome to see bands taking risks and pushing the boundaries. Life would be boring if all bands regurgitated the same stuff. This took a couple of listens but then guaranteed to be stuck in your head for days, a real grower. (Regan)

Gena Rose Bruce – ‘Good Thing’

This is just a down right banging tune, Steve Schram nailed the production and Genas band are shit hot. They really captured the live essence in the track. Cordi is one of my favourite young guitar players in Melbourne, her tones and style are spot on and she always serves the song. Genas vocals have always struck a chord and its awesome to see her reach potential in the studio and get it up to the quality of her live show. Very cool. (Regan)

Jack Stirling – ‘Greyhound’

Jack is a super talented musician. He’s a one-man band songwriter and multi instrumentalist who records everything himself in his home studio. This track is instantly captivating with his syncopated vocal parts that sound out of this world. He really takes you on a journey both sonically and with the lyrical content. Keep an eye on this freak talent. (Dave)

Silver Springs – ‘Like A Child’

This is a brand new band based out of Melbourne, so new in fact they play their very first live show on Sat July 4 at Hugs n Kisses – 22 Sutherland St! ‘Like A Child’ is a beautifully written country / soul tune that has all the feels in the world. I can’t stop listening to it! (Dave)

Timberwolf – ‘Fallen Sun’

A stirring and beautifully written song, lead man Chris ‘Pano’ Panousakis vocals are spectacular. His vocal range is almost as impressive as the rest of his band, if you ever get a chance to see them live, DO IT! (Dave)

Voltaire Twins – ‘Goodnight, Spirit’

An interesting band making interesting disco music! Not sure if they’re actually twins but that makes no difference when they release music like this. These guys have been writing and recording their debut album for the better part of a year and a half and it’s almost ready for us all to enjoy. This is the first taste and quite a teaser. Can’t wait to hear the rest of it! (Dave)

Harts – ‘Streets’

This guys a freak! Another one-man band song writing machine churning out up beat, riff-laden rock tunes. His guitar solos are a feature mimicking the styles of Hendrix and Page. This kids got swagger to boot too getting a nod from Prince himself. If it’s good enough for Prince, it’s good enough for me. Oh and again, if you get a chance see him live, DO IT! He’s something else. (Dave)

REMI – ‘Ode To Ignorance’

REMI is an artist who is paving his own path in the Australian hip-hop scene and making a stamp worldwide. Abrasive yet honest, this track has a beat that’s a bit of a nod to the old school way. His lyrics here are delivered in his unique style with a huge amount of personal meaning that you can’t help but connect with. I love all of this guy’s music and look forward to hearing more in the future. (Dave)
