It wasn’t all that long ago that we spoke about the artists and bands we’d like to see tour in the next 12 months. One name we didn’t mention was Noel Gallagher, because after all, the guy seems to be pretty in love with Australia.

Case in point, the former Oasis leader has just confirmed he will be returning to our shores next year. Gallagher didn’t confirm any specific dates, but stated he would be embarking on a world tour next year, which will include Down Under.

“Next year I go round the world again,” he said during post-Glastonbury interview with NME. “I go to South America and Australia and South-East Asia and there’s rumours of going back to America… So I’m fucking full-on, flat-out busy.”

The legendary songwriter said he’d be taking Christmas off, but plans to get stuck into touring during 2016. Stay tuned to Tone Deaf and we’ll have all the details of Gallagher’s Australian tour when they finally drop.

Meanwhile, the interview also featured praise for Kanye West’s now-infamous Glastonbury headlining set. “I thought for half an hour it was fucking outrageous. It looked amazing on my iPad, I have to say, for 30 minutes I thought, ‘Wow, this is truly fucking amazing,’” Gallagher said.

However, he admitted that there’s only so much of the hip-hop mega-star’s antics that this old rock dog can take. “Then, like most hip-hop gigs, after 45 minutes you’re going, ‘I want something else now’. But for half an hour it was as good as it gets,” he said.

The outspoken rocker also sang the praises of Florence + The Machine, who he said “should have been headlining [Glastonbury] in the first place” and thew his hat into the ring for a headlining spot next week, saying, “I’m always free for Glastonbury weekend, if anybody is watching.”
