After months of eager anticipation and much baited breath, Tame Impala’s third studio album, Currents, is just days away from release and it seems nothing, not even seeing the album get leaked onto the internet, can derail the Tame Impala hype train.

When we reported last week that Currents had in fact found its way online, we were overwhelmed by the amount of commentary from readers indicating they would not be seeking it out on torrent sites, and would instead wait for the official release to hear the album.

Hats off to you guys and gals, you are true Aussie rock fans. As a special reward from the rock gods, you can now hear Tame Impala’s new album in full, ahead of the scheduled release date, and you don’t have to go searching it out on any nasty torrent sites.

Currents is currently streaming in full online and you can hear it for yourself via CBC Music. Easily one of the most anticipated releases of the year, the first round of reviews for the Perth group’s third album indicate fans are in for a treat.

During a recent chat between frontman Kevin Parker and The Guardian, the mastermind revealed the album had been inspired by the experience of listening to the Bee Gees coked out and on mushrooms in Los Angeles, and we can see where he’s coming from.

Upon first listen, we can tell you that the album is a woozy head trip and the singles that have already been released, including the controversial ”Cause I’m A Man’, ‘Let It Happen’, and ‘Eventually’, should serve as a good indication of where Parker’s head is at on this album.

Stream Tame Impala’s third album, Currents, via CBC Music right here before it drops on Friday, 17th July.
