The past couple of months have seen some seriously awesome venues open up in Australia, including a venue with a self-service bar, a venue inspired by an iconic cult film, and a sick new Melburnian venue in a totally unexpected spot.

We’ve even covered one venue that’s set to host a mini-golf course inside the band room. The next awesome venue we write about? Well, that’s all up to you. Yes, if you’ve got the will and the green, you could have your very own venue.

The Bridge Hotel in Castlemaine is up for sale, with owners Brendan and Kat recently announcing that they have decided to put the leasehold of the beloved rural venue — one of Australia’s finest — up for sale.

The venue has hosted over 2,500 live performances over the last three years, with the likes of Courtney Barnett, Stephen Malkmus, Adalita, Cosmic Psychos, Smith Street Band, Adrian Edmondson, DD Dumbo, and more entering its hallowed walls.

The Bridge was also the distinguished winner of the Age Music Victoria Best Regional Venue award just last year. “We feel we have achieved more than we ever anticipated and are ready for new adventures,” write Brendan and Kat.

If you’re interested in owning regional Victoria’s best live music venue, jump on the horn and contact Dave at CRE Brokers on 0404 027 185. If there’s any readers out there looking to jump into the world of live music, this could be your chance.

“To our staff (past and present), our wonderful patrons, the incredible musicians who have played and our dear friends (and landlords) Liam, Joel & Singa (Owner/Operators of The Old Bar & Public Bar) we say a big thank you for the good times,” Brendan and Kat write.

“We sincerely hope we can pass the baton to someone who can build on what we’ve started here. In the meantime, it’s business as usual. Heaps of great shows coming up! You should come!”
