It’s not every day that an Aussie rapper gets a namecheck on one of America’s highest watched late night talk shows and when they do, it’s usually not in quite such a manner. Regardless, your boy Bangs made an appearance on a recent episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

Host Jimmy Fallon has a regular segment on his show called Do Not Play, where the comedian takes the listeners through real songs — “You can download them on iTunes or Amazon or see if your local record store has them” — which you simply shouldn’t play. They’re usually awkward or just plain awful.

One of the songs featured during the most recent instalment of the segment was none other than ‘Take U To Da Movies’ by Melbourne emcee Bangs. The infamous track triggered roars of laughter from both the host and members of Fallon’s house band, legendary hip-hop outfit The Roots.

However, Bangs himself has taken the whole thing in stride with a dose of good humour. He even took to Facebook to shake the whole thing off, telling his fans, “I know Jimmy Fallon making fun of me, but hey I got the attention tho [sic].”
