Melbourne based singled songwriter and pianos Ari Wenig is gearing up to release his brand new EP. Currently studying Jazz at Monash University, Wenig spent most of his teen years at the piano or on the stage in his high-school musicals, Ari recorded his first collection of original music last year, at the age of 19, with a selection of songs from his adolescence.

His EP Sink Without Drowning was produced by his high-school music teacher and mentor Jonathan Skovron, and recorded by Haydn Meggitt at Electric Haydyland Studios.

Though constantly experimenting with new musical directions, this EP is an honest tribute to the songs that made Ari fall in love with music, with the influences of John Mayer, Billy Joel and the Beatles heavily imprinted on the record.

Sink Without Drowning is an impressive collection of songs about  according to Ari “immersion until, but not beyond, the point of control. Immersion in seasons, in daydreams, in angst, and in longing – allowing the sensations to envelop you so that the experience is authentic, whilst ensuring that your perception of reality is untainted. ”
