So we all know that Mark Ronson’s latest tour in support of his smash hit album Uptown Special has redefined the term “star-studded affair”, right? Each of his performances has featured a raft of huge guests, including Mary J Blige, George Clinton, and our own Kevin Parker.

So why should the superstar producer’s appearance on Triple J Like A Version be any different? It shouldn’t, which is why he recruited another crack team of musos, including the Tame Impala frontman, Kirin J Callinan, and Andrew Wyatt for an absolutely killer cover of Queens of the Stone Age.

This totally funked-out version of ‘I Sat By The Ocean’ from Like Clockwork is now a strong contender for best LAV of the year and the competition so far has been pretty stiff, especially from local bands like Dorsal Fins, who blew us away with their Like A Version.

This year’s Like A Version series has been on a serious roll. We’ve seen some rousing political statements, an incredible alt-rock mash-up, some ambitious takes on songs by the likes of FKA twigs, Jamie xx, and Fatboy Slim, as well as a raw take on an Australian classic.
