FKA Twigs recently stopped by Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 Radio show to premiere a new track, titled ‘Figure 8’. According to the critically acclaimed singer, the song was written during a period of confusion following the release of her debut album, LP1, last year.

The singer, whose real name is Tahliah Barnett, also revealed that the track was partially inspired by voguing. “Every hand movement that you do in voguing is a figure of 8, and that is eternity,” she said. “Every single move has to flow into the other like the eternal move that never stops moving.”

Those who’ve been lucky enough to catch Barnett live recently will have heard the singer incorporate ‘Figure 8’ into her live show. In fact, as Consequence of Sound reports, Barnett debuted the track live in Melbourne back in January.

‘Figure 8’ is slated to appear on her forthcoming new EP, which is currently without a title or release date. However, we know the EP will also feature ‘Glass & Patron’, which was released earlier this year and a self-directed video for the track unveiled back in March.
