He may not have been happy about it, but getting called out by Jimmy Fallon on national television is probably the best thing that ever happened to Melbourne rapper Bangs, who’s experienced something of a career resurgence in recent months.

For those out of the loop, Fallon has a regular segment on his show called ‘Do Not Play’, where the comedian takes viewers through real songs you simply shouldn’t play, usually because they’re awkward or just plain awful.

When Fallon played Bangs’ infamous track ‘Take U To Da Movies’, it triggered roars of laughter from both the host, the crowd, and members of Fallon’s house band. However, Bangs himself didn’t really see the funny side and issued a diss track aimed at Fallon.

Do not watch Jimmy Fallon’s show, he’s got nothing to talk about because he’s horrible“, Bangs sang on the track, which was effectively a reworked version of ‘Take U To Da Movies’, with the lyrics about ladies who like to go to da movies replaced by searing venom.

Now, Ur Boy Bangs has expanded his scope a little to take on all of hip-hop with his new diss track, ‘Hip Hop Is Dead’. It’s kind of like Kendrick Lamar’s ‘Control’ verse, on which he famously took on every rapper in the game.

Eminem calls himself the rap god, Tyga call himself the last king, bullshit”, Bangs raps on the track. “Drake, Meek Mill, Wale, know what I say? I’m trying to kill all of you in one day”. Check out the track below, he racks up quite the body count.
