Have you ever been texting back and forth with a friend and suddenly stop to realise that your texts simply aren’t melodramatic enough? You want to express the feelings you have inside, the ones your mum doesn’t understand, but you don’t know how?

Well, the organisers of Taking Back Tuesday, a popular emo night in Los Angeles, have just unveiled a new app they’ve dubbed the Emo Keyboard, which allows you to prove to everyone it’s not just a phase and express who you really are using emo lyrics.

According to Alternative Press, the free app, which is available for the iPhone and iPad via the Apple App Store, comes with a list of categories to tailor your emo lyrics to specific situations, including “Breaking Up”, “Friendship”, “Not Fitting In”, and “Self-Reflection”.

Each category contains relatable, meaningful, heartfelt lyrics from popular emo bands that you liked before they were cool, such as Brand New, Saves The Day, The Used, and Jimmy Eat World, otherwise known as the bands whose posters you had on your wall at 15.

This isn’t just some marketing stunt, either, this is art. The team behind the app are already working on an update to give it more lyrical options and more categories, and for the angst-ridden broken hearts out there who refuse to conform to Apple, an Android version is reportedly on its way.

Editor’s Note: We know those are the South Park goths, it’s irony, keep up.
