It’s certainly been more hit than miss for this year’s Triple J Like A Version series. We’ve seen some absolute crackers come through over the airwaves and now UK favourites The Wombats have continued the streak with a cover of one of the biggest Aussie singles of 2015.

The indie rock trio, who were recently in the country for Splendour In The Grass, off the back of their warmly received third studio album, Glitterbug, laid down a delicate, stripped-back version of Brisbane singer Jarryd James’ hit ‘Do You Remember’.

The single, produced by James himself and New Zealand native Joel Little, best known as the maestro behind the boards for the likes of Broods and Lorde, peaked at number 2 on the ARIA Singles chart back in April and James was recently in the Triple J studio putting down his own Like A Version cover.

We’ve seen some impressive LAVs this year, including some rousing political statements, an incredible alt-rock mash-up, some ambitious takes on songs by the likes of FKA twigs, Jamie xx, and Fatboy Slim, as well as Mark Ronson’s all-star band absolutely nailing QOTSA.
